LOOKFANTASTIC BEAUTY BOX / MARCH 2018
Every month I receive the LookFantastic Beauty Box I get so excited to open it up and see what goodies are inside, which I think just goes to show how good this box is, even after 16 months of having it. This month, obviously, was no exception, mostly because I had actually forgotten it was coming! I think the short February was to blame, because it felt like I’d only just got the previous box.
For those of you new to the unboxings, LookFantastic is £13 a month for a year subscription (£15 if buying just one month) and if you want a cheeky discount, you can use the referral code HELEN-R5E when you sign up (and use this link, which is affiliated). Now, let’s see what we got inside March’s box!
As always, we got March’s copy of Elle magazine, worth £4.30. It’s a thick one this month! I’m looking forward to settling down with a sheet mask and looking at clothes I can’t afford. Also included is the Beauty Box mini magazine, which includes a description and hints/tips on the products in the box. It also has a few articles on relevant products.
The first product we got this month is the Skimono Total Conditioning foot masks. They’re basically sheet masks in the shape of socks that you leave on your feet for 20 minutes. The masks claim to make your feet hydrated and smooth, which is definitely what my feet need but I find the concept of sheet masks for your feet quite strange! You get one set of masks in the packet which is full size; it would usually cost £9.99 (from LookFantastic).
Next is a face mask (not for your feet). This is the RenuSkin Flash Relax Mask for mature skin, which I think was a little bit of a gamble to put in the box as not everyone will have mature skin! I might pass this one onto a family member who will get more use out of it. It claims to reduce the appearance of fine lines and firm the skin! This is a 15ml sample, but the full size is just under £35 for 100ml from LookFantastic.
This is from SkinChemist, a brand we’ve seen before in the LookFantastic Beauty Box, but this is a new product – the Rose Quartz youth defence lip plump gloss. I’ve never found a lip plumper that actually works, so I’ll be excited to give it ago (maybe in a vlog?). This is a full size product again and usually costs £44.99 (again, LookFantastic)! That’s a huge amount of money for a lip gloss.
I was happy to see the Omorovicza Balancing Moisturiser in the box, especially as it was almost full size (30ml instead of 50ml) and a glass bottled product. A glass bottle always seems a lot fancier, whereas usually in subscription boxes you tend to get smaller sample sizes or cheaper packaging. I’ve loved Omorovicza products before and this moisturiser smells heavenly – exactly like lavender! I’m a fan of lavender. If you were to buy this from LookFantastic, it would cost you a hefty £85.
Next is a makeup brush from the brand STYLondon, which I can’t find anywhere on the internet except for on subscription box sites. It’s an oval/paddle face brush, which you could use for foundation or other cream products. It’s quite small so I think I’ll be using it for cream contour rather than foundation. The only place I could see this for sale (other than people selling it on eBay) was on the RoccaBox site for £3.
Finally, we have two single eyeshadows from Doucce. They’re designed to fit into Doucce palettes, but they are magnetic so can fit into any magnetic palettes. The shades are called Kate and Tenley and they’re gold and brown shimmers respectively. I don’t tend to use single shadows at all as I prefer palettes, but I’ll pop them into my Freedom magnetic palette and see how I find them. These retail for $10 each, meaning this is worth around £14.34!
So, overall we got a box value of approximately £132.87! That’s a HUGE value compared to the £13 monthly price. This is the highest value box we’ve ever got by far. I’m so impressed! Again, if you do want to sign up, use this link and type in the referral code HELEN-R5E for some money off.
