LOOKFANTASTIC BEAUTY BOX – NOVEMBER 2018
Yet another month where I totally forgot that I was meant to receive the LookFantastic Beauty Box in the post. Not that it’s a bad thing; I’m always up for a semi-surprise box of goodies. This month was my birthday month, so I was hoping for a good box and I have to admit, this is the best one we’ve had in a while. I’ve been slightly disappointed for the past few months, but hopefully that was just a phase.
links are affiliated but opinions are my own
If you’re new to my unboxings – hello! I unbox the LookFantastic Beauty Box (and occasionally other things) each month and talk about the contents and their value thoroughly. I know how tricky choosing the beauty subscription box for you can be, so I aim to make the decision easier. If you want to sign up for LookFantastic Beauty Box, it’s between £13-15 a month with free delivery, and you can use the code HELEN-R5E to get money off your first box. INSIDE THE BOX
As we always do, we have the November issue of Elle magazine. I always like getting it because it feels like an added extra, plus it’s worth £4.30 by itself which is a third of the box! We also get the mini Beauty Box magazine, which has the contents as well as other articles relevant to the theme of the box.
The first item we get is a LookFantastic x Bubble T bath bomb! We’ve had one of these before (last December or January I think) but this is a new, limited edition scent. I’m currently renovating my bathroom, so I’m looking forward to using it once I have a shiny new bath to put it in. It’s the Dark Wonder scent (berry and hibiscus) and is worth £5!
This is the REN Evercalm Global Protection Day Cream, which is a moisturiser. I love a good moisturiser and REN have been a great brand for me with previous boxes. This day cream is perfect for those with dry or delicate skin that needs a barrier against air pollution, which can cause premature ageing. It also apparently ‘trains’ skin to be less sensitive but I’m not sure a moisturiser can do that! This is a 15ml sample which is worth £9.60; the full size is £32 for 50ml.
This is another brand I’ve had a lot of good experiences with! It’s the Elemis Papaya Enzyme Peel, which is a cream exfoliator. I have to admit, I’m not good with exfoliating at the moment, but perhaps this will encourage me to use it! This one claims to smooth and brighten the complexion and is especially good for those with mature or sensitve skin. The full size is worth £34.50 and is 50ml; this one is 15ml and worth £10.35.
We got three makeup products in this month’s box, which was very nice to see – usually it’s mostly skincare! This is the Mellow Precision Pen Eyeliner, which is a black felt-tip style liquid eyeliner. I’m going to be putting this in a giveaway (subscribe on YouTube and follow on Insta to enter when it goes live) because I don’t use black liner, but it’s still great to see a full size makeup product. This eyeliner is worth around £10.
The second makeup item was a mini Laura Gellar Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminator (highlighter) in the shade Glided Honey. This did get a little beaten up in the post, but I managed to fix it without too much damage. I did think this would be too dark for me but I think I can just about make it work, as it isn’t very pigmented, just glowy. This is a miniature worth £9.33 whereas the full size is £21.
The final item is a Contour Cosmetics liquid lipstick, which again is full size. This is a really nice pink-nude shade and it claims to stick around all day without feeling uncomfortable on the lips. I like the colour and I’m happy to see a liquid lipstick in the box! Contour Cosmetics usually only sell lipsticks with a lipliner in a bundle for £22, so I’ve divided the value up with two-thirds on the lipstick and one-third on the lipliner, making it worth £14.67.
The total value for this box is a decent £63.25, which is a lot more than the £13 paid! Again, if you do want to sign up, you can do so here with the discount code HELEN-R5E.
