LOOKFANTASTIC BEAUTY BOX / APRIL 2019
I love this month’s LookFantastic Beauty Box theme. The natural-looking box and promise of more natural ingredients inside was appealing, to say the least!
If you want to sign up to the LookFantastic Beauty Box, you can do so using this link. It’s £13-15 a month with free shipping, which is a bargain. If you use the code HELEN-R5E at checkout, you’ll get some money off your first box!
Links are affiliated but opinions are my own. See previous unboxings here.
As always, we get a Beauty Box magazine to outline the products within the box as well as sharing some relevant articles and products. We also get the month’s edition of Elle magazine, which is worth £4.50.
The first item we received was something I assumed I couldn’t use (due to me following the Curly Girl method) and so I put it in a giveaway. However, looking through the ingredients I realised it actually is Curly Girl friendly, unless you avoid PEG- silicones, as this contains PEG-8 (considered water soluble). This is a scalp mask, so you massage it in and leave it on for 10 minutes. It’s supposed to stimulate hair growth! This item is £24 for 240ml, whereas this one is 60ml and worth £6.
The next thing in the box I also put in a giveaway. Not because I can’t use it, but because I hardly ever take baths! When I do have a bath (don’t worry, I do shower), I tend to use a bath bomb rather than salts as I’m not a fan of the feeling of them before they dissolve. This is the Deadsea Salt type from Ahava, which is full size and worth £6.49.
Next is the Naobay Origin Recovery Mask, which I was worried about in case it was a hair mask! Thankfully, it’s a face mask for sensitive skin which natural and organic ingredients that claim to help with redness, boosting plumpness, hydration and soothing. The full size is £11.99 for 75ml, whereas this one is worth £3.20 for 20ml.
Another skincare product; this is the BalanceMe Vitamin C Repair Serum. It’s 98% natural and formulated with Hyaluronic acid, which is a hydration ingredient that my skin personally loves. Vitamin C is supposed to help with pigmentation and brightening the complexion. This sample is only 7ml, but as I’m going on holiday next month, it makes the perfect travel companion. The full size is worth £32 and contains 30ml, meaning this one is worth £7.47.
This is another one I’m going to take on holiday! The only thing I’ve previously tried from Emma Hardie is the balm cleanser (which I love, by the way), but this is the Midas Touch Revitalising Cream, which is a moisturiser. It claims to hydrate, smooth and firm – like most moisturisers, to be honest – and contains ingredients like hyaluronic acid and Edelweiss stem cells. The fancy ingredients means a 50ml full-size cream is £44, whereas this one is 15ml and therefore worth £13.20.
Finally, a makeup product! This is a Bellapierre Cosmetics Mineral Lipstick in the shade Envy. I love the packaging on this lipstick, and the shade is a beautiful muted red, which I really love to wear as it’s so flattering. The lipstick has loads of hydrating oils to nourish the lips without being too slippery on the lips. This is full-size and worth £20. I think they’ve discontinued this line from the LookFantastic site, however.
The total value of this month’s box is £60.86, which is loads more than the £13 a month we pay! My favourite item is probably the lipstick as I do prefer makeup, but I’m glad I have a few minis to take on my travels with me.
