Lighthearted Beauty and Lifestyle... Honestly.

It’s LookFantastic Beauty Box’s 4th birthday, so this edition of the LFBeautyBox is a little bit extra special. I’m excited to see what’s inside!

If you’re new to my LookFantastic Beauty Box unboxings, I do these every single month – you can see past months here – and I have been subscribed for over 18 months! LFBeautyBox is a monthly subscription box filled with beauty products and costs just £13-15 a month (depending on how long you sign up for). You can sign up here, and if you use the referral code HELEN-R5E you’ll get some money off!

As always, the first thing in the box is the Beauty Box magazine, which outlines the products inside the box as well as having other articles inside that are relevant to the the theme or the season. Better than just a sheet of paper or postcard!

Next is a copy of Elle magazine, who LookFantastic are partnered with. This month is the September issue, so it’s a bit chunkier than normal. This is worth £4.30 and I always appreciate getting an extra read.

The added bonuses this month include a discount voucher for the LookFantastic advent calendar! This code gives subscribers 20% off the calendar, which is launching 1st October for £79. That’s almost a £16 discount!

The second treat is a packet of giant Parma Violets, which I know are my husband’s favourites. I’ll be nice and let him have a munch on those! They’re worth 35p.

The first actual item is the Lord & Berry Strobing Pencil, which is a highlighter in the form of a pencil. It’s meant for highlighting small areas like the browbone, inner corner and cupids bow. It’s a pretty pink, but it seems like an ‘extra step’ product that I’ll never end up reaching for. The good thing, however, is that this is a full-size product worth £14, despite only being 0.7g in weight.

That seems to be it for the full-size items however, as the next five are deluxe samples, the first one being the Aromatherapy Associates Revive Oil, which is a bath/shower oil to wake you up in the morning. I don’t tend to get on with oils in the shower (um, I don’t really fancy falling over onto the tiles, naked and damp, thanks) but I’m sure it’s great. The full size is 55ml and is worth £78, but this one is 9ml and worth £7.85.

Next is another product I won’t use (and I’ve stored away for a future giveaway), and that’s the Philip Kingsley Elasticizer. This is a pre-shampoo treatment to help with hair breakage and strength. However, it has ingredients in it that curly hair really doesn’t agree with, so I can’t use it! This is a 40ml sample worth £8.53, whereas the full size is worth £32 at 150ml.

This is something I definitely will use! This is the Eve Lom cleanser and cloth, which we have had before in a LookFantastic box, but I did enjoy it, so I’m not mad. The cleanser is a balm, which is my favourite type of cleanser as I feel like it’s the easiest to use and kindest to skin. The cloth that comes with it is supposed to be used as a hot cloth, but I find it works as a normal face cloth too (I’m lazy). This is another sample at 20ml, worth £11. The full size is 100ml and £55.

Another fancy item is the Omorovicza Ultramoor Mud Mask. This sounds like the dream mask, boasting about hydration, sculpting, cleansing, smoothing and more. It smells like the spa, but doesn’t come with an applicator, which means I’m going to get messy fingers as usual. This is a 5ml sample worth £6.80, whereas the full size is £68 with 50ml of product.

Lastly, it’s the Mane & Tail Hoofmaker (I know it’s horse-themed… but seriously?), which is a hand and nail cream. This is supposed to strengthen nails and hydrate the hands. I have dry skin on my hands at the moment due to the change in weather, so I probably will use this. However the tub its in isn’t a squeezy one, so it might be too difficult to use all the way up. This is a 57g travel-sized version worth £2.30.

The total value for this box is around £55. If you include the voucher as part of the value, it takes it up to around £71, but you do have to spend £79 on the advent calendar to get that discount. This isn’t my favourite box at all, but it’s still a good value!

Again, if you do want to sign up, it costs just £13-15 a month (depending on how long you sign up for). You can sign up here, and if you use the referral code HELEN-R5E you’ll get some money off!
