SEPTEMBER EDIT / 2018
How quick did September go!? It seems like yesterday it was August, now it’s all pumpkin spice lattes and halloween makeup tutorials. But can we address how cold it is? After the summer heatwave, it seems even colder now. I’m sorry for moaning, but I’m British. Sorry.
At the end of every month, I’ve decided to create my monthly Edits – a mixture of product favourites, other things I’ve been loving, a life update and any other bits and pieces I want to include. It’ll be a great way to summarise my month and something interesting to look back on in the future. Links are affiliated.
I have three eyeshadow palettes to talk about this month, which is always exciting. The first palette is from Beauty Bay – they recently launched their new Colour Theory palettes and I chose the Evolve palette. I did review this palette, which retails for £25, and fell in love with the formula and colours of this palette. The other two palettes are from AliExpress by a (legit) brand called Beauty Glazed. For such cheap palette, they are beautiful. The mattes are nicer than the shimmers, but for the price, I’m amazed. I have reviewed the Must-Have palette and have a review coming up next week for the Gorgeous Me palette, too.
After my newest testing Essence makeup video, I’ve been loving the glitter top coat, which makes my lips look so shiny and pretty. It doesn’t last long on the lips but it’s worth it. Lastly, a random favourite is the Bourjois highlighter. I was looking for a light gold highlighter (which is really difficult to find in the drugstore, it’s either dark gold or pink) and this one is so pretty. It’s not very intense, but is more of a natural, glow-from-within subtle look.
I got myself my autumn candle for this year and it was a bargain! This is the Chloe White Black Pomegranate candle which smells divine. It’s a huge candle so should last a long while. With candles, I’m definitely more into masculine scents and this does remind me of expensive men’s cologne.
I have to admit, I am yet to have a seasonal coffee, which is very unlike me. The reason for that is I started my diet this month. Myself and Chris are both eating healthy and exercising to try and lose a stone before my birthday in November. I have four stone to lose in total and I would like to lose 1.5 of that before the end of the year. Yes, I do have health problems (thanks, body) that makes it more difficult to lose weight, but I’m really determined to lose that weight. I already know I’m taking a week off for my birthday and Christmas – I don’t have the willpower to diet for those – and there will be odd occasions (like a wedding, a halloween event, etc) that I know won’t be the healthiest of days, but I’m really trying, guys. Really. My first week I lost 2lbs, so if I lose 2lbs every week, I’ll have lost the four stone by April 2019.
Also, minor news, but I chopped 12 inches off my hair this month. It was a necessary yet drastic move. See more about my hair journey here.
