Lighthearted Beauty and Lifestyle... Honestly.

MAY EDIT / 2018

MAY EDIT / 2018

May – the month of heat! Finally we have some sun to bathe in, although I’m not very good in the heat (blame being super pale), it’s been a lovely change from the snow we had up until April. It’s been a stressful month too, but I’ll get into that throughout the post.

At the end of every month, I’ve decided to create my monthly Edits – a mixture of product favourites, other things I’ve been loving, a life update and any other bits and pieces I want to include. It’ll be a great way to summarise my month and something interesting to look back on in the future.

beauty favourites may 2018

The first thing I want to rave about is the I Heart Revolution Nudes palette! This is the newest chocolate bar palette and has a new layout and shade names on the palette rather than on a plastic sheet. I love the shade range (pinky neutrals) as it reminds me of ABH’s Soft Glam palette. I do have a review of this palette on my blog and my youtube channel if you’d like to see more. In the middle of the month, it was payday and I treated myself to a few Morphe goodies – two new brushes, a setting spray and the Morphe 35B palette. I’m not usually a Morphe fan (except for the Jaclyn Hill palette) but these items are amazing. I do have a video where I use all of them, here!

Talking about an ABH Soft Glam dupe, the actual Soft Glam palette is also one of my favourites this month! It was expensive, but definitely worth it. I love the quality, the shade range and the look of the palette. Again, I do have a review on my blog and youtube channel.

After testing a bunch of Natural Collection products on my blog and youtube channel, I found that my favourite thing was the Hydrating primer! It’s nice and glowy to wear under foundation, so perfect for summer.

lifestyle faves may 2018

I think my new Primark shoes were last month’s faves but I got another pair of new Primark shoes that I absolutely love! They’re probably more autumnal than summer shoes, but I love them! They’re so comfy to wear despite the heel.

This month I’ve read five new books! I am really getting into reading lately. My favourites were Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine and Gone Girl. Both definitely worth a read if you haven’t got them already.

life update may 2018

I can’t really say much about my life in May, if I’m honest! All that’s happened is that we did some more work on my beauty room. The walls are all painted (white and grey), the wallpaper is bought for my feature wall (pink and white) and we have cut the skirting boards ready to fit to the wall. I’ve even chosen my carpet and desk – I just need to order them. Hopefully this time next month I can say it’s 100% finished, but who knows!

  • Oo I love a post like this! Those Primark shoes are SO nice! I bought a few pairs from Primark this May for my holiday and they had some really nice stock in, hopefully this will continue in to summer. I also listened to Eleanor Oliphant is completely fine on audio book, I really really enjoyed it! I want to buy the book now and read it ‘properly’, I’m not getting along with audiobooks as well as I do the physical books! XX
