PETRA X REVOLUTION PALETTE REVIEW
links are affiliated but all opinions are my own, as always!
So, Revolution has launched another collab palette. We’ve had plenty of those of late, so it’s no surprise that there’s another. This time we have an eyeshadow palette from Petra, a vlogger from the Czech Republic. It retails for £12 on RevolutionBeauty.com and Superdrug.com, and will be in-store within the next week weeks.
The eyeshadow palette is different from others we’ve seen before, as it has two sides of shadows – 36 in total – rather than one side with a mirror. On one half, there’s cool toned shades; on the other is warm tones.
The shade range isn’t unlike other palettes we’ve seen before. Most of the shades are repeats or close repeats to other palettes, like the Soph x Revolution palettes, for example. However, the combination of the two sides are quite unique and there are some more individual shades, like the duochromes. It’s a pretty all-in-one palette – there’s everything you’d need for an everyday look, but there’s the option to go more ‘glam’ with the sunset shades or pinks.

THE EYE LOOK
I created this first eye look with the cool side of the palette. I used the shade Honeymoon as the transition colour, then OMG in the crease. Although this did seem to have glitters in the pan, on the eye they disappeared. In the outer corner I used the shade Green Turner and a tiny bit of Sweet Tooth. Green Turner wasn’t as pigmented as I wanted, but wasn’t patchy or sheer. On the lid I used Savage, which was nice and shimmery but didn’t have the cut-crease effect I wanted, mostly because it was too similar to the crease shade. On the inner part of the lid I used Drugstore Queen, then finally Wedding Cake on the browbone and inner corner, which was quite crumbly.
I created this eye look with the warm side of the palette. First I took Hashtag as the transition shade, followed by the orange Brick Trick in the crease. These blended out really nicely. I took Pretty Please in the outer corner, followed by a bit of Gossip to deepen it up. I would have preferred an even darker brown, but there wasn’t one! On the lid I took Hubby’s Fave which is a beautifully pigmented blue. I ‘cut the crease’ using this shade (without concealer) and blended somewhat into the outer corner. I then used B-Day Girl as a browbone and inner corner highlight.
I think the warm side, with the blue and orange, was my favourite look but I do appreciate the fact that there is a cool side to play with as well, depending on your mood. I like this palette a lot more than I thought I would, and although it’s not perfect, it’s one of the better palettes from Revolution recently.
