I don’t have a large amount of products in my makeup collection but my stash is growing every single day (hello, 40 lipsticks) so I thought I’d share with you how I organise my makeup collection. I keep it in my office, as that’s where I film all my YouTube videos. One day I’ll have a proper dressing room setup but until then… it’ll do.
My brushes are in a flowerpot from Ikea and I feel like every single blogger/youtuber keeps their brushes in the same thing. It’s so handy and a great size for brushes! My brushes are from various places: Amazon, eBay, Real Techniques, W7, Royal…
These bits don’t fit in my storage drawers, so I keep them just in front of them. The silicone brush cleaner is one of most useful purchases to do with beauty so far! It makes cleaning my brushes so easy. But my anti-aging moisturiser and my primer/day cream live here along with the nail varnish I wear on my toes. I generally keep my toes the same colour for weeks before swapping things out. I often keep my other skincare products here too, but at the moment they’re in a little collection on their own.
I keep all my makeup in 4 acrylic holders. They were from eBay, but you can get them in various high street stores now too, like Primark and New Look. They aren’t the best quality – I really want some Muji drawers – but they are fine for the time being. I like how handy the top compartments are for storing bulky items.
The bottom and middle drawer of one set contains single eyeshadows, small palettes, glitter and brow products. There’s also a button and a misshapen ring in there, for some reason.
The top drawer of that same set has lipsticks and glosses in that didn’t fit in the top compartment. The top section has all my lipsticks, , lip liners, setting sprays, powders, a foundation, contour kits and a bronzer.
In the other set of drawers, at the bottom I have my favourite foundation, my favourite powder, concealers and an eyeshadow primer.
I didn’t realise I had this many blushes in this middle drawer, but yes. I do. I actually use the NYX powder blush as contour so it shouldn’t really be in this drawer but the packaging is identical to the George blush so it sneaked in there.
This is the messiest drawer. All my eyeliners and mascaras are in here. Honestly, this drawer needs a decent declutter (mostly because I never use eyeliner) and it’s a struggle to close it sometimes.
If you’ve got keen eyes, you’ll see that the contour and bronzer have magically appeared again in this picture. That’s because I decided to reorganise the top sections halfway through taking the pictures. All you’re missing out on is another highlighter and an illuminator. More foundation, a setting powder, a cream contour stick and my favourite highlighter by Makeup Revolution. I also have all of my ‘etc’ things – eyelash primer, lipcote, eyelash glue, glitter glue, a sharpener, tweezers, eyelash curler, mattifying lip topper and some sponges. I definitely need a new beauty blender, I clean it each time I use it but the stains are persistent!.
Lastly are the palettes. I love eyeshadow palettes (if you want to get me a birthday present…) and cannot get enough. I have a few W7 palettes, a Technic contour palette and a couple of eBay finds as well.
You can find an updated makeup collection here from February 2017.
