THE BEAUTY BLOGGER TAG
I haven’t done a ‘tag’ post in so long, so when I came across the Beauty Blogger tag whilst scrolling through my feed, I added it to my ‘to-write’ list! I haven’t sneaked a look at the questions before copying them across so what you’ll get is my 100% honest, first-thought answers. Enjoy!
1. What is the one product you could not go without?
Wow, this is a hard one for the first question. In general, it would be mascara. But a specific product… probably the Buxom Lash Mascara. It’s a new find, but I’ve already bought a back-up and I use it every day!
2. Favourite Make Up Brand
RevolutionBeauty. It’s an umbrella brand for Revolution, Revolution Pro, I Heart Revolution and Obsession, but Revolution is my favouritest favourite. I include their products in so many blog posts (as you’re probably aware!) and I think they’re excellent value for money.
3. Who is your style inspiration?
I don’t really have one. I wear what’s comfortable, what I like and what suits me; most of the fashion bloggers, celebs or Instagrammers don’t have my body type or lifestyle so it wouldn’t be the best idea to draw inspiration from them.
4. Do you remember the first make up item you purchased?
Not the very first, as it was a very long time ago(!), but one of the oldest lipsticks I own is a Kate Moss Rimmel lipstick in the shade 19. I loved it, and I still love it now! I have a replacement for hygiene’s sake, but I have kept the old one. It still smells the same and reminds me of my teen years every time I use it.
5. Who is your favorite beauty blogger or YouTuber?
I have so many favourites that it’s impossible to whittle it down to just one. I love Sophdoesnails, Sophie Louise, Lucy Wood, Gabriella Lindley, NikkieTutorials, Tati, Georgia Marie, missbudgetbeauty, Tammi Clarke, Safiya Nygaard and ohemgeeitsmaya.
6. What are your top 5 makeup brands?
Revolution, ABH, Beauty Bay (they have their own palettes and brushes), Beauty Glazed and Morphe.
7. What is your top beauty tip?
Skincare is sooooo important. Cleanse, tone and moisturise before priming and your makeup will look so much better. Exfoliate once or twice a week. Use serum. Use oils. Use SPF during the day. You’ll love yourself in 20 years time for doing it!
8. Why did you start blogging?
I was bored at home whilst job-searching and had blogged before, so thought I’d give it another go. I stopped job-searching after a few weeks and decided to make blogging/YouTubing my career!
9. Random fact about yourself
I have dermatophagia! It’s where you compulsively bite or pick at the skin around your fingernails.
10. How much do you spend on beauty products every month?
Including my Love Me Beauty subscription, between £40-90 each month.
11. Describe your dream make up haul!
I have a makeup wishlist as long as my arm! But I’d love to be able to get some products from the US that we can’t get easily over here, from brands such as Colourpop, Physician’s Formula, Tarte, Lorac (and so on).
12. How often do you wash your make up brushes?
Not often enough! I use my foundation brushes once or twice before washing them but my powder brushes only get cleaned every six weeks or so. I need to get better at doing it, but it just takes so long to do!
13. If you could only choose to do one before leaving the house, would you do your hair or your makeup?
Makeup. I never do my hair anyway; it’s a rats nest and can’t get any better even if I try!
14. 5 Beauty Products you couldn’t live without
Buxom Lash Mascara, Revolution Conceal and Define concealer, Benefit Gimme Brow, Primark Lip Crayons and Collection Primed & Ready Setting Powder.
15. What advice would you give to a beauty blogger just starting out?
I have a whole post for new blogger advice! You can read it here.
Feel free to consider yourself ‘tagged’ to do this post if you want to answer the same questions! Let me know you’re doing it so I can have a read when it’s published.
