Lighthearted Beauty and Lifestyle... Honestly.

Spring may have officially sprung, but the weather is definitely not caught up yet. Every few days we get a hint of sunshine that makes me break out the crop tops and culottes, but then the next day it’s back to snow and ice! The only way of feeling spring-like in these climes is via makeup, so I decided to put together a spring makeup edit, where I show you what makeup I’ll be favouring this season, as well as new and upcoming spring releases in the makeup world! (By the way, links are affiliated)

For today’s look, I wanted something fresh, bright and easy. Spring days aren’t so warm that my makeup slides off my face, so I’m still up for sporting a ‘full face’ look. In the summer I tend to go foundation-free or just use a BB cream instead. I love experimenting with colour in this season, so on my lips I’ve gone for a bright lip – a BareMinerals mini- and a pretty blush – one from Ted Baker – to have some fun. On my eyes I’ve used the Tartelette In Bloom palette by Tarte, choosing the nudes for the crease and outer corner and a soft shimmer on the lid. Keeping my eyes neutral means I won’t look too bright and colourful. I’ve made sure to bronze up using the Revolution bronzer, and glowed up using the Revolution Liquid Highlighter in Starlight. I’ll be playing around in a Spring makeup tutorial on my YouTube channel soon, so subscribe if you want to see that!

spring makeup edit - the makeup i'll be using this season

Because just one makeup look won’t showcase the products I’ll be using all season, here’s some of the goodies I’ll be gravitating towards this Spring. I think there’s a theme to my choices; lots of floral-inspired products like the Tarte Tartelette In Bloom palette, as well as makeup with a fresh feeling, like the MUA Prism Liquid Highlighter in Sunhaze. There’s some red-toned lip products like the Revolution Renaissance Lipstick in Lifelong and the My Sign Collection gloss in Libra as well as hydrating products like the Autograph Hydrating Primer and Revolution Illuminating Setting Spray. Of course, I’ll be buying some new makeup to test out in the next few months, but these are the things I’m loving right now.

I'm a 💗FASHION FANATIC💗 and I live for Fashion Week 🙌🏼. Being on top of trends; be it makeup or fashion, I love watching the backstage action just as much as watching the runway. 😍😍 . Cosmopolitan seems to think ‘thumb print’ eyeliner (seen on Tom Ford and Jason Wu’s models) will take over the cat eye flick, barely-there makeup will be bigger than a full glam look, and a pop of red lip with nothing but lashes on the eyes will be an effortless way of looking ‘done’. Harper’s Bazaar agree on the rounded eyeliner trend, saying that New York Fashion Week was abundant with edgy liner, meaning Spring might be full of new ways to wear your staple black liquid liner (and all those other colours, too). But the overall theme to most catwalks was a natural look, or no makeup makeup if you like.

Coming up this Spring is the KKW x Mario collection, Natasha Denona Tropic palette and the newest Benefit Blush Bar for those of you who like your makeup on the pricier side. For those with a smaller budget, there’s new shades of the popular Conceal & Define concealer from Makeup Revolution coming in mid-April (as well as loads of other awesome products), Graphic Lipliners from Zoeva at the end of March and Morphe have released their Brontour – a bronzer/contour duo in 6 shades.
