HOW I PLANNED MY BOOK

HOW I PLANNED MY BOOK

I’m writing a book, as you probably guessed from the title of this post. For me, the most difficult thing was getting started; now that I’ve written my first 5000 words, the task doesn’t seem so mammoth and daunting anymore! I’m hoping that, by telling […]

LOOKFANTASTIC BEAUTY BOX / APRIL 2019

I love this month’s LookFantastic Beauty Box theme. The natural-looking box and promise of more natural ingredients inside was appealing, to say the least! If you want to sign up to the LookFantastic Beauty Box, you can do so using this link. It’s £13-15 a […]

SPRING FEELINGS

SPRING FEELINGS

A new season always brings new feelings, new thoughts and a new outlook on the year ahead. This is especially true with Spring, I feel, as there’s the hint of warmth in the air and everything feels refreshed and renewed. For me personally, this particularly […]

ABH RIVIERA PALETTE

ABH RIVIERA PALETTE

Anastasia Beverly Hills dropped their newest palette and, of course, social media went wild for it. ABH’s new releases are always exciting, but especially the Riviera palette as it had some brighter shades not usually seen in their palettes. It retails for £46 (find it […]

TAMMI X REVOLUTION TROPICAL CARNIVAL PALETTE

TAMMI X REVOLUTION TROPICAL CARNIVAL PALETTE

MakeupbyTammi is back for round two with Revolution! There’s a brand new collab palette called Tropical Carnival (see her first palette review here, by the way) and I picked it up – of course – so I could see if it was as good as […]

MARCH EDIT / 2019

March went by so quickly; probably because I was on a break. I’ll be updating you on what I got up to in just a minute. The beginning of Spring is always a nice time for me – the April showers haven’t started and it’s […]

FEBRUARY EDIT / 2019

FEBRUARY EDIT / 2019

February, although shorter than the other months of the year, has passed fairly slowly. Probably because I’m extra poor (I’m not getting paid this month as ad revenue drops low after Christmas), but also because it’s still quite a ‘meh’ month, with the weather still […]

TOP 5 AFFORDABLE FOUNDATIONS FOR PALE SKIN

TOP 5 AFFORDABLE FOUNDATIONS FOR PALE SKIN

Foundation shade ranges often are, well, very beige. There’s quite often not enough deeper shades or paler shades, especially in affordable foundations. I’ve taken one for the team and tried 35 different foundations under £15 to find the very best formulas and shades for us […]

MY LIFE

MARCH EDIT / 2019

MARCH EDIT / 2019

March went by so quickly; probably because I was on a break. I’ll be updating you on what I got up to in just a minute. The beginning of Spring is always a nice time for me – the April showers haven’t started and it’s not quite t-shirt weather, so you have a nice happy medium. I always want to refresh my wardrobe in Spring, which is exactly what I did.

At the end of every month, I’ve decided to create my monthly Edits – a mixture of product favourites, other things I’ve been loving, a life update and any other bits and pieces I want to include. It’ll be a great way to summarise my month and something interesting to look back on in the future. Links are affiliated.

ABH Riviera Palette / £46 / Beauty Bay
Revolution Precise Brow Pencil / £3 / Revolution Beauty
Revolution Reloaded Deep Dive Palette / £4 / Revolution Beauty
Maybelline Dream Matte Blush / £5.50 / Superdrug

Despite taking a break on YouTube (and therefore not needing to buy much for videos), I managed to pick up a fair few new bits and pieces. I really enjoyed the new Revolution Precise Brow Pencil, especially since my Revolution Pro pencil ran out recently. I prefer natural brows, so this type of product is something I always enjoy. Lastly, the Maybelline Dream Matte blush is a cream matte blusher and I’ve been absolutely loving using cream products lately. This blush is so easy to use and blends like a dream. I have a review of ABH’s Riviera palette coming soon so I won’t spoil anything, but I obviously love it. Finally, a palette on the other end of the spectrum price-wise is the Reloaded Deep Dive palette from Revolution. Lots of beautiful blues and greens!

LIFESTYLE FAVES
march edit lifestyle fave - trainers

I bought myself the ugliest-beautiful shoes (again). This time, I wanted some ‘fashion trainers’ rather than the comfy – and dirty – ones I use for walking. As I have an 80s-90s vibe going on with my clothing, I decided to go for some retro chunky pastel trainers. I love them! They’re so comfy.

LIFE UPDATE
life update march edit

So. I took a month off. What have I been up to?

Well, I decluttered my entire wardrobe and created an outfits list for Spring so I don’t end up buying clothes I don’t need. I even got rid of old pyjamas, gymwear and underwear.

Probably the most exciting for me is that I began writing my book. I wrote a quick plan in my Notes app, expanded it into a physical notebook, then wrote it down on post-its so I could organise it. Once I had done that, I started writing. I’ve only written about 5000 words so far, but my aim was to start. Continuing with a project is always easier than starting! I’m going to write separate posts in the future about my book, but for now it’s top secret.

Another big development was I started looking for Freelance work. I applied for a fair few roles and haven’t heard back from any of them yet, but I have hope. I’m going to take an afternoon every few days to go through the new listings and apply. I also set up a new Portfolio site in case anyone stumbles across me and wonders what I can offer.

I came up with a few new ideas for YouTube videos which I’m really excited to film – hopefully my audience enjoy them too.

Other than ‘work’ stuff, I also played a lot of Sims 4 and caught up on my YouTube Watch Later list! I felt guilty at first for not doing anything productive, but that’s what you do when you have time off usually, so I shouldn’t.
