Finding a highlighter that is suitable for paler skin can be tricky; more often than not I get the tell-tale darker streak on my cheekbones when I expected to see a glow! So, I’ve taken one for the team and tested out as many as […]
Bronzers are notoriously tricky to find for those of us who are pale AF, especially from the drugstore, where shade ranges are often not great. However, I’ve accumulated my personal favourites under a tenner that should work for most paler skin tones. I’ve also done a […]
Concealers are a tricky one to find if you’re as white as a ghost like me. It gets even more difficult if you’re after a more affordable, drugstore option. Shade ranges are definitely improving (expansion of existing shade ranges and new launches with both paler […]
February, although shorter than the other months of the year, has passed fairly slowly. Probably because I’m extra poor (I’m not getting paid this month as ad revenue drops low after Christmas), but also because it’s still quite a ‘meh’ month, with the weather still […]
Links are affiliated but opinions are my own As part of a new series where I’m concentrating on the makeup I already have in my collection (rather than new-new-new all the time), I’ve created sixteen different looks with the Soph x Revolution palette (RevolutionBeauty, Superdrug […]
Foundation shade ranges often are, well, very beige. There’s quite often not enough deeper shades or paler shades, especially in affordable foundations. I’ve taken one for the team and tried 35 different foundations under £15 to find the very best formulas and shades for us […]
Links are affiliated but opinions are my own Lurveeee is on the mind this month with the Valentine’s Day themed LookFantastic Beauty Box! There’s six products that represent romance. If you’re new to my unboxings, I have a whole collection of them here for you […]
Every single Valentine’s day (and the days leading up to it) you’ll have two types of people: you either celebrate or appreciate Valentine’s Day and think it’s a nice way to celebrate love, or you hate it and think it’s just a way for businesses […]
I think we should all be keeping a diary. I’ve spoken a lot about how I have a bullet journal and how it helps organise my life, but the diary I’m talking about isn’t for scheduling your week, but the ‘Dear Diary…’ type. The type […]
I get asked quite a lot about what my favourite makeup brushes are and, to be honest, it changes pretty frequently as I try new ones and develop new ways of applying makeup. These brushes, however, are those I really do think will stand the […]
Let me start off this post by saying: I hate the term Influencer. Well, not exactly hate it, because I definitely have stumbled across Instagram feeds with hundreds of thousands of followers where every single post is an #ad – in those sorts of cases, Influencer […]
Wow, the first Monthly Edit of 2019! A year ago, I wrote my very first one. How times have(n’t) changed. I feel like January is the Monday of the year. Everyone’s a little grumpy and down after December’s celebrations, motivation is at an all-time-low, and […]
Recently, we renovated our bathroom – well, half renovated; there’s still the flooring to put down – and part of that renovation was getting a new cabinet specifically for my skincare products. I spent the evening organising and decluttering my skincare collection and placing it […]

February, although shorter than the other months of the year, has passed fairly slowly. Probably because I’m extra poor (I’m not getting paid this month as ad revenue drops low after Christmas), but also because it’s still quite a ‘meh’ month, with the weather still feeling wintry and not much happening socially.
At the end of every month, I’ve decided to create my monthly Edits – a mixture of product favourites, other things I’ve been loving, a life update and any other bits and pieces I want to include. It’ll be a great way to summarise my month and something interesting to look back on in the future. Links are affiliated.
SHOP MY FAVES Beauty Bay EYN 42 Brights / £23 / BeautyBay.com Sleek Face Form Palette / £9.99 / Boots L’Oreal Infallible More Than Concealer / £9.99 / Superdrug ELF 16hr Camo Concealer / £5 / Superdrug
I tested out quite a lot of makeup for videos this month, in particular a drugstore ‘first impressions’. In that video I found a love for two concealers – L’Oreal More Than concealer and the ELF Camo concealer. In another video I review the new EYN Brights palette, which has 42 shades! The mattes in this palette are so pigmented and colourful; it’s such a fun palette. Finally, I got the Sleek Face Form palette in my LookFantastic box this month, so I’ve been using that almost daily. It’s a great palette for a quick everyday look or for travelling.
Primark’s perfume range is a budget fragrance goldmine. There’s so many beautiful scents in fancy-looking bottles. I want them all! I have a little bit of a secret obsession with perfumes; I have almost 30 now and don’t even use them every day! My fave one is Fig & Blackberry, which smells deliciously fruity.
I think these shoes may be my favourite shoes I’ve ever bought. I got them in the New Look sale for just £12 (reduced from £26) and I am obsessed with how they look. They’re the most ‘me’ shoes ever! They are a little toe-squeezy so I think I should have got a size up, but it’s worth the pain.
This month, as I said, I’m not getting paid for my YouTube work. I put in around 50-60 hours every week, so to not get paid because Ad revenue is low feels humiliating as well as putting me in a tough financial position. It makes me feel like what I do isn’t good enough and isn’t worth the mental and physical effort it takes. For that reason, I decided to take a break in March. I’ll still be uploading a video once per week (Sundays at 9.30am GMT) so the algorithm doesn’t destroy me, but I’ll be using this time to job-hunt, set myself up a portfolio for freelance work and take some time out for myself. I’m really looking forward to it! I do love creating content but it takes everything out of you when you pour your entire soul into something and not get the results you desperately want. This also means I won’t be posting any blog posts, but I will post a March Edit with an update on the 31st.
